Welcome to New City Church

Welcome to the online home of New City Church!  I'm glad you stopped by.  My name is Matt Miller and I'm one of the pastors of New City Church.  

This being my first post and all, I guess it would be important to let you know a little bit about New City Church.  New City Church was started for three reasons.

Each of these areas are important, but it starts with You.  We believe the best way to inspire a city is from the inside out.  So, in July 2011 New City Church started hosting small gatherings where we would share our dream with those who would listen.  Little by little this group began to grow and beore long New City Church was made up of 100 people who had a common purpose.  You. Family. City.

During this time, New City was blessed with a permenant facility.  What used to be a dollar theatre on the corner of 75 and Nieman, called Trailridge Cinemas, is now where New City meets on Sundays.

Since September, a lot of construction has taken place to restore this old theatre into a new facility!  Before the construction started, New City Church made their mark on their future facility.  

On September 11, 2011, we went into our future facility and wrote on the floor.  Writing on the floor isn't a big deal, it's what we wrote on the floor that matters.  Taking Sharpie markers, the people of New City wrote names on the floor.  Each name representing a person who is close to our heart.    

You can no longer see these names.  They have since been covered by wood, insulation and carpet...But I know the're there.  Many times during the week I go in our future room and I pray for those names.  I pray for those who wrote them.  And, I pray for you.  You matter and I hope to meet you soon.
