Give Thanks

I can't speak for you, but I can tell my story.  God has been so good to me.  I often think on this goodness by focusing on some of my favorite blessings.  I'm not trying to come across super spiritual, but I am very thankful that God provided salvation for me by giving his son Jesus (Jn 3:16).  This next statement supports my love and loyalty to God...The majority of my blessings are a direct result of Jesus inviting me to follow him and my audacity in saying yes.

My wife...I met Jenn when I was 23.  I met her because a church in Ft. Lauderdale FL asked me to join their staff as the Middle School Pastor.  I took a chance and said yes to God.  Packed up my short bed GMC 1500 Sierra and headed to sunny south FL for a whopping $7,500 a year.
My kids...Yeah, you can connect the dots.  I can't imagine my life without them.  They are truly my gift from God.
New City Church...This blows my mind.  Everyone within New City, except for the Moix family, I only know because of our common love for Jesus.  If not for the good news of Jesus I wouldn't know you and you wouldn't know me.  C'mon...That's something to be thankful for!

My list could go on.  I could get a lot more detailed but you get the idea.
I am so very thankful for all that God has given me.

Now, if you're thinking, "But Matt, your life is perfect" I would simply invite you to hang with me for a week.  I've got most of the same stuff you do.  But to tell you the truth...And here's an area I'm growing in...I'm thankful for the junk of life also because it pushes me into some serious prayer.

God has given me and you plenty to be thankful for.  Brag on God today.  Tell me.  Tell someone what God has done for you.

Thankful for you,
Pastor Matt
