I would like to offer a quick spiritual thought for you to think on.

In John 14:15 Jesus says. "If you love me _________________." What do you think Jesus said would show that you love him? You've probably already looked at Jn 14:15 for the answer. If not, let me give it to you. Jesus said we can know we love him if we obey his commands.

I think we miss the application because the word "Love" gets thrown around all the time. I think a great way to view this word, in this context, is by thinking about loyalty. What if we ready John 14:15 this way, "If you are going to be loyal to me then you will do what I say."

Think on this...How often have you told God you love him YET continue to not do what he says? Before we conclude, look with me in the book of James chapter 1 verse 22.

"But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves."

Notice that hearing the words of God are not the same as living them out. Might you be confused in life because you are listening to God and at the same time completely ignoring Him?
