Are you currently serving or would like to serve on a ministry team? Gather with the ministry team and leaders for lunch, encouragement, and to grow in your leadership ability. Childcare is provided for 2nd grade and below. Kids older than 2nd grade may accompany their adult to the meeting.

Ladies, come cool off together and fellowship at the pool! We will provide subs for dinner. Bring your own towel, and invite a friend! Since this event is off campus, there will be no childcare provided. This event is for all women who are high school age and up (no children, please). Contact Heather Snow with any questions.

Come join us for some Summer fun as we play sand volleyball at the park!

The City of Shawnee puts on an event with food trucks, live music, bounce houses, yard games, vendors, activities for kids, AND fireworks at the end of the night called PARKED. We get to partner with them by sponsoring the bounce houses and yard games area and running that for the event. Bounce houses and yard games will run until 8:00pm weather permitting and then will be taken down so we can all enjoy the fireworks together.

This event is great to come out too, hang out with our neighbors, engage in meaningful conversations, and invite them to New City Church if they don't yet have a church home.

A summer hang for all middle school students and leaders! Bring some friends, crush some s'mores around a firepit and grow closer to each other.

Join us to watch USA’s first game of the World Cup — kicking off a summer of soccer! Come on over to the Yngsdal house at 7pm, the game kicks off at 8! We’ll provide a few snacks, please bring your own drinks! Register on the app or in the YA event group & we’ll get you the address! 

Ladies, join us for a beautiful evening in the garden, hosted by Sherri Thomas. We will have a devotion, delicious food, and you’ll be able to build your own bouquet to take home! Invite a friend, and bring a lawn chair if possible. Please note, this event is off campus, and will not have childcare available.

Join us for Church on the MAINSTAGE at Old Shawnee Days. Old Shawnee Days is a 4 day festival full of bands, carnival rides, food trucks and tents, and more! We love being in our city and making it better, and we are blessed with this opportunity to have a service in our community on June 7 at 10:30 AM. 

Come support our Cheese Fries tent Friday-Sunday as you and friends or family enjoy a day at the festival! 

On the 5th Sunday of the month, families are invited to stay after church for a relaxed and fun time together! This special children’s ministry event is a chance to connect with other families and teachers while enjoying simple, joyful activities with your kids. Drop in and choose what works for your family—play games, make crafts, watch a kid-friendly movie, or enjoy some treats together. There’s no pressure or schedule, just a welcoming space to build relationships, laugh, and spend meaningful time as a church family. All Kid City families are welcome!

Fifth grade student's official move up day! On May 31st, the 5th grade students will begin attending the Middle School Sunday service every Sunday. Middle School service takes place during 10:45 AM service in the student room. This is a big and exciting step, and we can’t wait to welcome them as they continue growing in their faith and community.

Come join us as we kick off the summer!! Summer is full of opportunities for adventure. We want to start that off right. Whether you just graduated from high school, finished a long semester, or are already in the work force, join us at Shawnee's firepit for food, music & games. 

Students join us for our annual all campus student gathering May 27th @ 6pm! We will take time to eat food, worship together, and then have breakouts over different topics! The breakouts will be a time for you hear content on a specific topic and discuss how it applies to your life. We will finish around 830pm but you are welcome to hang out till 9pm! 

Hey Graduating Seniors and Parents! Sunday May 17th we want to celebrate with you! Student Ministry team will be hosting a brunch at 12:15pm-2pm for graduates and close family! We want to take time and encourage our graduates, pray over them, and celebrate this huge accomplishment! For food and set up please register if you plan to attend!

We are excited to host this End of School Community Event!! Join us for this annual event hosted by our Kid City ministry. There will be bounce houses, food, face painting, yard games, Sno Cone truck and more! 

Ladies, come play Bunco with us, and make church friends! If you've never played, we will teach you - you'll catch on! Invite a friend, and enjoy chatting with many different women through the night. We'll provide snacks, and childcare is available with registration. All women high-school-aged and up are welcome to attend. 

Young Adults! We have an opportunity to show up in a meaningful way for children in foster care. Joy Run is happening on May 9th, and it’s more than a mud run — it’s a celebration of foster families and a way to bring awareness to the needs of children in foster care in our community. We’d love for you to join us in serving Joy Meadows by volunteering. They need help with set up, registrations, and anything else! Please register by April 12th, so I can give them a head count on our group. 

Join Kid City for a special family serving event — Seeds of Kindness! Families are invited to come together and share God’s love with the residents of our local assisted living facility. Together, we’ll brighten someone’s day by delivering a sweet treat, a handmade card, and a beautiful flower to each resident.

This hour of service is a wonderful opportunity to teach our kids the joy of compassion and kindness in action. Families will have the chance to visit with residents, pray with them, and shower them with love and encouragement — planting seeds of hope that will continue to grow long after our time together.

Let’s serve side by side and spread the light of Jesus through simple acts of love! Bring your smiles, warm hearts, and willing hands — we can’t wait to serve with you!

5th graders will be checking out what it will be like to be in middle school services. On the first Sunday of January, February, March, April, and May - 5th grade students will come upstairs after check in to worship and hang with the leaders and students of 6th-8th grade. Middle school service is only offered during second service so if you attend first on those Sundays, students will be in their normal class downstairs. Our hope is to make this transition for them as natural and smooth for them as possible before our official Move-Up Day on May 31!

There is often a lot of uncertainty following graduation. One thing we want to clear up is what ministry opportunities are on the horizon for the students. We want to connect high school juniors & seniors to some of the YA leaders. We also want to let the juniors & seniors know what is available to them this summer.

Celebrate Recovery is turning 2 — and you’re invited to celebrate with us!

For the past two years, Celebrate Recovery has been a place where real people have found healing from real hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This anniversary night is all about celebrating the powerful work God has been doing in our church family.

Even if you’ve never attended Celebrate Recovery before, this is a great night to come show your support and encouragement. You don’t have to be “in recovery” to attend — this is a night to celebrate courage, freedom, and lives being changed.

Girls, 6th - 12th grade, bring your mom or the significant woman in your life and come play indoor putt putt golf with us! It’ll be an awesome time of hanging out, getting to know each other and just having fun!

Father and sons of Student City join the group for a time of Laser Tag at Jaegers! We will leave at Shawnee at 430pm to get out there and play Laser Tag at 5pm! After that we will go eat together! Laser Tag is on New City, dinner after will be covered by you. Please register so we can make sure to have everyone covered for the Laser Tag that evening! Can't wait to see you there!

Starting Point is your opportunity to find out about all things New City. We spend time eating together, getting to know each other, asking questions, and listening to what makes New City different. We will discuss our Vision, Mission and Values as well as introduce our staff, and you get to ask your questions to us. Please register to assure for childcare and lunch.

Shawnee Women’s Event: A Table in Every Season is a three-part women’s gathering series centered on biblical hospitality, practical cooking skills, and spiritual reflection. Each event corresponds with a season—spring, summer, and fall—highlighting how God cultivates, sustains, and brings harvest in our lives.

Each evening includes hands-on food preparation, practical teaching, devotional reflection, and shared fellowship.

Students and families join us as we go and engage our city! We will be helping Harvesters on Saturday, April 18th from 1015am-1230pm. We will be sorting fresh produce, sorting and boxing bread, packing senior commodity food boxes, sorting nonperishable food drive donations. We will meet there, if you are in need of a ride, please make sure to let us know in your registration.

- Closed toed shoes

- Dress with layers, it may be cold

- Carpool if you can! Parking is limited
