High School Students join us Friday, September 18th @ 10pm after the football games at New City Church in Shawnee. We will have food, dodgeball, and games! Bring your friends, its going to be a great time!
Jesus changes us! This fall, students in 6th–12th grade are invited to step away from the noise and experience a weekend focused on the life-changing power of Jesus. Through worship, teaching, small groups, and meaningful time together, we’ll discover what happens when we truly encounter Jesus—and how He changes the way we think, live, and love.
We are sending 8 people to camp this year and would love your support in helping them get there. All donations will go straight to the students going to camp to help offset their registration. The students will serve pancakes and drinks from 9 AM - 10 AM before service begins. Please come and support this group and share with family and friends!
Student 6-12th grades join us for a pool party! We will gather at a neighborhood pool to play pool games, swim, or just chill poolside. Bring a snack to share. Drinks will be provided. Don't forget to register and bring someone along.
Students join us this year as we travel to St. Louis, Missouri to Redemption Ranch Camp! Students who have completed 6th grade – 12th grade are welcome on this trip. At camp there will be worship, teaching, quiet time, and free time during the day. The focus for you student is to get away, have fun, and spend time growing in your personal relationship with Jesus!
Students join us for our annual all campus student gathering May 27th @ 6pm! We will take time to eat food, worship together, and then have breakouts over different topics! The breakouts will be a time for you hear content on a specific topic and discuss how it applies to your life. We will finish around 830pm but you are welcome to hang out till 9pm!
Hey Graduating Seniors and Parents! Sunday May 17th we want to celebrate with you! Student Ministry team will be hosting a brunch at 12:15pm-2pm for graduates and close family! We want to take time and encourage our graduates, pray over them, and celebrate this huge accomplishment! For food and set up please register if you plan to attend!
There is often a lot of uncertainty following graduation. One thing we want to clear up is what ministry opportunities are on the horizon for the students. We want to connect high school juniors & seniors to some of the YA leaders. We also want to let the juniors & seniors know what is available to them this summer.
Girls, 6th - 12th grade, bring your mom or the significant woman in your life and come play indoor putt putt golf with us! It’ll be an awesome time of hanging out, getting to know each other and just having fun!
We’ll meet at 5:00 at Craft Putt, 11440 West 135th St., Overland Park, KS. This is a free event, but please register by April 16th.

Father and sons of Student City join the group for a time of Laser Tag at Jaegers! We will leave at Shawnee at 430pm to get out there and play Laser Tag at 5pm! After that we will go eat together! Laser Tag is on New City, dinner after will be covered by you. Please register so we can make sure to have everyone covered for the Laser Tag that evening! Can't wait to see you there!
Students and families join us as we go and engage our city! We will be helping Harvesters on Saturday, April 18th from 1015am-1230pm. We will be sorting fresh produce, sorting and boxing bread, packing senior commodity food boxes, sorting nonperishable food drive donations. We will meet there, if you are in need of a ride, please make sure to let us know in your registration.
What you need before Saturday, April 18th
- Liability waiver filled out
- Closed toed shoes
- Dress with layers, it may be cold
- Carpool if you can! Parking is limited
- A good attitude!
Shawnee students join us for a movie night April 8th, the Wednesday following Easter in the sanctuary! We will be watching "Paul, Apostle of Christ" from 6pm-830pm. We will have soda and popcorn but feel free to bring your favorite snacks/candy! Please register to make sure we have enough popcorn and drinks!
Students - 6th through 8th grade - instead of our regular Midweek gathering, middle schoolers will come together for the first annual Tournament of Games! Teams will be formed to compete in various types of events until a single person is crowned a winner! This is a perfect event to bring a friend!
We will have snacks, fun games, and a short devotional! This will be at the same time as regular midweek and take place instead of it.
Shawnee Juniors and Seniors join us for a night of delicious food and devotionals! We won't be at one place but we will be going to 3 different spots! We will have an appetizer at one location, a main course at another location, and dessert at another location. At each spot there will a time for leaders to invest in you about topics you are currently facing and/or will face. We want to have some fun and encourage each of you in this season of life! Please register so we can make sure to have enough food for the evening!
Join us in the Student room Sunday, Feb. 22nd, to help students go to camp! We will being having a $10 all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast that morning. All proceeds (and any tips!) will go to those students serving to help them go to camp this summer! Bring your appetite we will see you there!
High school and middle school girls…join us for a fun Galentine’s party! We’ll have dinner, decorate cookies, play bingo with fun prizes and more!

Join us for a virtual meeting if you might be interested in going to one of our 2 missions trips this year. This isn’t a commitment to go, but it a great starting point if you are interested in international missions. Register to attend by January 22.
Parents join us for an evening with your students and student leaders. We will have games, food, and worship followed by an informational time on what's new at Student City. We hope to show you what your students get to participate in and experience each week during midweek and how our leaders are pointing them to Jesus. Register to join us!
Following the football games Friday Night, October 24th, High School students join us for some late night fun back at New City Church! We will have your favorite late night snacks, games, and students will share testimonies! We will start @ 10pm with food, invite your friends, we will see you then! Please let us know if you are coming by registering so we can plan for food by October the 22nd!
Join us for Student Fall Retreat. This years theme is GRAVITATE - are you moving towards or away from God? Our focus for the weekend will be James 4:8, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." We will dive into this topic through personal quiet time, worship, teaching, and small groups!
Students 6th-12th, this year we are going to Camp Siloam in Siloam Springs, AR! Camp will run from Monday afternoon to Friday Morning. Each day we will have worship, small groups, team games, there is free time, and some late night games. Camp Siloam has something for everyone, basketball, sand volleyball, swimming pool, gaga ball, ping pong, and more! The goal for us is to get away for a week to grow in our relationship with Jesus and one another, as well as having fun while we do it! Please register and pay by June 8.
New City Students let's come together to worship and have some fun! We will spend time together to eat, worship, teaching, play a friendly game of dodgeball and other fun! Make sure to register and we will see you then!

Students and parents because this movie is rated R we ask you review this movie and register your student so we can make sure you know they are watching this movie that night. This is a graphic movie and wanted you to be aware before watching it.
Student City will be watching the movie, "Passion of the Christ. As we move towards Easter, we wanted to take time and be reminded of what Christ has done for us. We hope to see you there! Parents, this is a 2-hour movie so we will go a little past 8. We will have popcorn and drinks, so if you would like to bring other food feel free to do that!
Student City guys and dads/male guardians we invite you to come bowling with others April 13th! We will be meeting to eat pizza, bowl, and have a devotional time! Please register, $5/person.
Join us for a fun and exciting Mother/Daughter dinner and Bunco night. Bunco is a fast paced, somewhat frenzied game that is super easy to learn. If you can roll dice, you can play! They’ll be lots of good food and desserts, as well as fun prizes. This night will be a great way for moms and daughters to spend some quality time together. Please register by April 9th, 2025. New City Students are going to Ignite Youth Leadership Conference March 14th-15th! This trip is for High school students and Leaders to take a trip to Des Moines, Iowa to invest in your relationship with Jesus! At Ignite we will hear from different speakers like Levi Lusko and Jon Jorgenson, and others. There will also be breakouts at night and during the day Saturday with intentional topics that you students encounter.
Leaders this is a great opportunity for you to hear topics that our students are faced with and prepare yourself for conversations! We will take off Friday at 12pm (please eat before you come). Housing is TBD. We will return Saturday night by 10pm. They will have merch that you can purchase, we will stop and get food on the way back, and most likely stop at a gas station while we are there, all of that will be on you. Please register and pay by December 15th.

Students we are going to Winter Jam 2025! This is a $15 CASH general admission concert, with several christian artists. We will leave at 4:30pm from the Church and head to T-Mobile Center! Parents are welcome to join. Leaders and Parents if you are able and willing to drive students, that would help us carpool students there! We will be standing in line so dress warm. When we get inside there is food, drinks, and merch if you would like to purchase stuff on your own!
Please register by Jan. 15th so we can make sure to have you a ride.
New City has reserved the theatre to watch the Best Christmas Pageant Ever together! This is a great story that will go right along with our series starting in December called "Messy Christmas." This movie is directed by the same director as "The Chosen." We hope you can come along with family and friends to spend a night at the theatre having a fun night out!
We are excited to take Prayer and Praise to the Park for our last one of 2024! Join us at Erfurt Park in Shawnee as we go out into the Community for a time of fun, prayer and worship. We will have drinks and games to hang out in the park at 5:00 PM before the service begins at 6:30 PM. Come, bring family, friends, and neighbors to come relax and spend time in the presence of God. Please bring your lawn chairs.
Join us May 29-31 for a 3-night Student City conference to encourage and equip students in their faith! This is for all students 6th-12th grade! Each night from 6:30-9:30 PM we will gather to worship, hear a message from God's word, discuss with small groups, and hang after! Our heart is not just to have a gathering of students but for them to grow in their faith! We want to see students take steps to live like Jesus personally and in the city we live in! God is working already and we believe he wants to do more through the students at New City and in the community. We can't wait to see you!
Join us as we celebrate our Seniors in Student City, May 26th at our 11 AM service! We are going to take time to encourage our seniors and send them out! Graduates families that plan to attend, please register so we can have enough food and make sure we are prepared for your graduate!
